Welcome to the libraries of Taipei European School!
Our school libraries serve the educational, informational, and recreational needs of all students within our diverse and multicultural community. Our vision is to inspire the spirit of exploration, the joy of reading, and the pursuit of knowledge for all students.
As a cornerstone of TES, our libraries connect students from the German, French and British Sections and we proudly promote and enrich the social, cultural, and educational lives of our diverse and evolving community.
Primary School Library
The Primary Library is located on levels 3/4 of the main building at EPC. The library collections have been specially chosen to accommodate different ages and reading abilities in four languages - English, French, German and Chinese. We also have a growing number of books in our World Languages collection. This bright and spacious area provides not only a wonderful reading environment but also a key space for student research. The library is open to students throughout the day, and parents are invited to browse for books before and after school. The library is open from 7:30am to 4:00pm during the week (closed on weekends and national holidays).
Secondary and High School Library
The Secondary campus benefits from access to a well staffed and resourced library. With access to 20,000 resources for academic research, as well as a wealth of fiction books, students are sure to find what they are looking for. Located on the 4th of Phase 2, the ESC library provides a cozy environment for studying and reading for pleasure. Bright and inviting, this library houses an ever-expanding and varied collection for our avid fiction readers. Students are encouraged to recommend titles for inclusion in the collection and our staff work hard to ensure that students are kept up to date with new arrivals and which authors are currently popular.
To support Secondary and High School students’ study needs, the library provides a wide selection of resources. Not only do we have books for all disciplines, but we also boast a selection of valuable databases, Chromebooks and PCs with internet access, an extensive range of magazine titles, DVDs, and a great environment for students who wish to find a stimulating space for their studies. Staff are always on hand to help locate materials, answer research queries, and assist with referencing and citation questions.
The Library encourages and supports both leisure reading and academic studies every school day from 7:30am to 4:30pm
