The Year 3 students opened their Rice Restaurants for their parents! The restaurants were the end point of our topic on Rice. The students have previously visited a rice farm to see how rice is grown, completed homework tasks and looked in depth at how important rice is to people around the world.
Each class made different rice dishes. Mr Preston’s class made rice balls, Mrs Liufalani’s class made different flavours of mochi, Ms Ho’s class made Banh Yeo (rice pancakes) and Mr Doyle’s class made sushi.
The parents were invited to taste all of the yummy food and gave the children’s a big thumb up! The children thoroughly enjoyed planning and creating their rice dishes and it was a great way to finish their Rice topic.
